Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week in Destiny 2 (May 26-30)
Trials of Osiris is back in Destiny 2, and with the Season 21 patch bringing some big changes to the sandbox, expect to see some new strategies being used in this PvP activity. Before you head to Saint 14 and get your pass card stamped, stop by Xur to find out what gear the Agent of the Nine is selling this weekend. Here’s a look at where you’ll be playing Trials of Osiris this weekend and what weapons you can earn.
Map: Endless Valley
Reputation Rank 4: Mod Upgrade Reputation Rank 7: Enhanced Prism Reputation Rank 10: Messenger (Pulse Rifle) Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module Reputation Rank 16: Unexpected Rebirth (Glaive) Flawless Bounty: Unswerving Duty (Adept)
Season of the Deep adds some great new rewards to the challenge pool, and if you’re a shader fan, there’s a great gold prize to claim in this multiplayer event. Along with the Glorious Patina shader, Trials will also feature some new exotic cosmetic items to unlock, including a new Ghost skin, ship, and Sparrow. Glorious Patina will only be available to players who become Flawless during Season 21, and the weapon list will be updated with The Messenger’s Pulse Rifle and Unexpected Resurgence Glaive as possible prizes.
A new emblem is also being added, but you will need to earn the Flight of the Pigeon medal for every victory and open the Flawless Chest at the Lighthouse to get it. The other big change to Trials this season is the debut of an introductory quest that provides proper training for new Trials players, and completing it will reward players with the Astral Horizon Trials Shotgun.
Trials Passage offers are also being updated to provide the best experience starting with Passage of Wealth. This will now grant +75 Trials reputation per win, and an additional bonus to your current main Trials rank, up to a total of +150. Passage of Mercy now forgives two losses if you haven’t already been Flawless for a week, and after you’ve become Flawless, it reverts to a state where it forgives one loss per card after resetting.
This season’s main game mode is Dominion, which Bungie says was chosen because it’s faster overall, encourages more varied activities, and provides a healthier sandbox variety. As a reminder, Trials weapons have the Alacrity Origin trait, which gives you increased aim assist, reload speed, stability, and range of that weapon when you’re the last living member of a fireteam or running alone. You can also switch to the Crucible’s “One Quiet Moment” feature, which greatly increases your weapon’s reload speed when you reload it out of combat.
Trials begin with a daily Friday reset at 10:00 AM PT / 1:00 PM ET until a weekly reset at the same time the following Tuesday. Be sure to visit Saint-14 in the Tower to pick up a Trials card which will determine certain bonuses (such as whether you get bonus rewards in certain stages or whether a loss is forgiven). Your ultimate goal in Trials of Osiris is for you and the other two players in your fireteam to achieve a “flawless” playthrough in which you win seven matches without losing a single one.
Become Flawless and you’ll earn a trip to the Lighthouse and receive special rewards, including an adept’s weapon. They have additional stat bonuses, making them one of the most coveted items you can get. Your Trials Passage – the card you buy from Saint-14 that grants you access to the mode and tracks your wins – doesn’t count your losses so you can keep playing and earn rewards even if you lose a flawless run.
