Along with the release of the game, Daedalic released a Day 1 patch that fixed crash issues on PS5, but there’s still a lot to be done. “Most of the issues mentioned, especially the crashes, were for the console version of the game, and we have already patched the game accordingly,” Dedalik said.

The company confirmed that it is “closely monitoring the launch period” and is open to feedback from the community. “More details will be provided tomorrow once we have all the information.” It is not yet clear what the scope of the upcoming patch is or when exactly it will go live.

According to GameSpot’s sister site Metacritic, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is the game with the worst reviews in 2023. Of the 298 games available on the site for 2023, the PS5 version of Gollum is last on the list (according to VGC).

“Similar to Gollum’s search for the Ring of Omnipotence, my search for the completion of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was filled with endless setbacks, incredible chances, and an ever-increasing level of insanity. And like Gollum, my journey was doomed from the start. … So if the main goal of the developers was to really put you in the shoes of such a pathetic, unattractive character, faced with constant pain and suffering at every turn, they at least succeeded in this, ”said Sam Pape at GameSpot “Lord of the World”.
