Dodgers activate Clayton Kershaw from the dead list

The Los Angeles Dodgers activated left-handed pitcher Clayton Kershaw from the dead list on Friday.

In an appropriate move, the club selected right-hander Tyler Scott to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Kershaw, 35, was listed on Monday following the death of his mother, Marianne Tombo. He should start Saturday on the road against the Tampa Bay Rays.

In the season, Kershaw is 6-4 with a 2.98 ERA. Three-time National League winner Cy Young has a career record of 203-91 with a 2.49 ERA over 16 seasons.

Scott, 30, has not appeared with the Dodgers. This season, Oklahoma City is supplying 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA and 29 strikeouts against 10 walks in 16 games.
