Diablo 4 – Wizard Enchantment Guide

Unlocking the Sorcerer Enchantment Mechanic in Diablo 4
Sorcerer spell slots in Diablo 4 are unlocked at levels 15 and 30. At the moment, we’re not sure about the requirements for a level 30 slot given that the beta only limits characters to level 25.
However, there is a class quest in the first slot at level 15 called Sorcerer: Legacy of the Magi. Make sure you track him so he gets marked on your map. Here’s the gist:
You will have to return to the southwest of Neveska. Basically, this is where you started the campaign. There you will meet a Wizard named Mordarin who will ask you to return the Forgotten Codex. The item can be found in a nearby dungeon. The dungeon itself has its own reward, although the Forgotten Codex can be obtained from the marked chest. Clear the dungeon if you wish, but you need to return the book to Mordarin. You will then enter a hut where you will need to interact with four braziers. Mordarin will try to harness the elements, but will accidentally summon demons instead. Killing the demons will unlock the Diablo 4 sorcerer enchantment slot for your level 15 character.Mordarin wants you to take a quest item. It is in a chest in a nearby dungeon.
If you have a slot to enchant a sorcerer in Diablo 4, you can choose any active spell (i.e. not passive or ultimate) that has at least one rank. This can come from the distribution of skill points, or even better, from any item that adds rank. For example, if you have a random amulet that gives +1 to Teleport, then Teleport will be unlocked even if you have not used any skill points.
Either way, go to your ability panel and click “Skill Assignment”. At the bottom, you can select a spell that will have an additional effect. These Diablo 4 wizard enchantment slots offer amazing boons that are quite different from their regular active skill effects. Most will even trigger regardless of the ability you use to defeat enemies or trigger an effect.
One rank/level for a spell counts as an unlock, even if it is derived from the item’s modifier rolls. This allows you to choose a spell in which you have not invested any skill points. Basic Skills: Spark – +12% chance to generate crackling energy when you kill an enemy. Damage. Frostbolt – +15% direct damage chill effect. Arc Strike – Stuns enemies for 0.5 seconds after you use your cooldown (i.e. dash). Basic Skills Fireball – Enemies you kill explode with a fireball that deals 50% of their damage. .Ice Shards – Automatically spawn and fly towards frozen enemies. Chain Lightning – Created automatically when you spend 100 mana. Charged Arrows – 40% chance to fire Charged Arrows when you stun an enemy. Incinerate – The snake will incinerate enemies every 20 seconds. Frozen Orb – Any non-basic skill you use has a 20% chance to trigger a Frozen Orb. Flame Shield Defensive Skills – Automatically activates whenever you take lethal damage; can only occur once every 120 seconds. Frost Ring – +30% chance to release Frost Ring when using Conjuration Skills. Frost Armor – +5% chance to cast Frost Armor whenever you get hit. Teleport – Your dodge is replaced by a short range Teleport with a 17 second cooldown. Witchcraft skills. Frost Blades – Every 20 seconds spent on cooldown causes a Frost Blade to spawn on a random enemy. Hydra – A five-headed hydra spawns each time, spending 300 mana. % chance to create a lightning spear whenever you pick up crackling energy. Mastery Skills Fire Screen – +5% chance to create two firewalls under an enemy whenever they take burning damage. Blizzard – A blizzard will form around you every 15 seconds. Meteor – Lucky hit; +3% chance that the Meteor will fall on enemies. Fireball – a successful strike; +25% chance to trigger Ball Lightning on Critical Strike.
Since there is only one sorcerer spell slot available at level 15 in Diablo 4, we recommend equipping Fireball. Every kill you make will cause the enemies to explode, which can lead to a chain reaction of explosions due to the guaranteed procs.
Using the fireball enchantment causes many enemies to go insane.
