2 Tennessee cities are in the top 25 for $100,000 salaries
NASHVILLE, TN (WKRN) — According to SmartAsset.com research, two Tennessee cities made it to the top 25 cities where $100,000 salaries reach the highest levels.
SmartAsset compared 76 major US cities to determine rankings that were based on an individual’s $100,000 income after taxes and cost of living adjustments.

“$100,000 is not what it used to be,” Patrick Villanova, CEPF at SmartAsset, said in the study. Villanova cited a recent PYMNTS and LendingClub survey that found that 51% of people who earn that amount reported living paycheck to paycheck on December 22.
Nashville ranks 15th on this list with revenue adjusted to $77,782, while Memphis ranks 1st.
“Given that the cost of living in the city (Memphis) is almost 14% lower than the national average, these post-tax incomes are actually $86,444, adjusted for the cost of living,” according to SmartAsset.com research.

El Paso, Oklahoma City, Corpus Christi and Lubbock round out the top five cities where this six-figure salary reaches its highest levels.
